Impulse Leisure Welcomed Grays Convent Pupils to Their Inspiring Girls’ Wellbeing Event
Impulse Leisure were extremely proud to welcome 150 Year 8 pupils from Grays Convent High School to take part in their first Girls Empowerment Day!
Held at the Civic Hall, the day was packed with educational talks. One inspiri
ng keynote speech came from Victoria Oshunremi, British Triple Jumper, who shared her successful sporting experience with the pupils – inspiring young girls to feel more confident, especially when taking part in fitness!
After the talks, Grays Convent teachers gave a great session on goal setting before students rotated through the interactive workshops – exploring the barriers that often affect girls’ participation in physical activity. These included periods, body confidence, a lack of sporting role models, and the importance of good nutrition.
Impulse Leisure instructors amped up excitement on the day with some high-energy fitness sessions. Including dance fit, Pound Rockout, gym-based fitness and even some rebound classes. These sessions were very popular with the students, who ran, jumped and danced to new forms of fitness in our supportive-led environment. Did you know? You can find and book all of these classes over on the Impulse Leisure Apple app, Impulse Leisure Android app, or by booking online!
One standout workshop was delivered by Libby from Ove Care on menstrual health, who kindly offered students essential knowledge and access to their free support app – find out more here: https://ovecare.com/
