Learning to swim is an essential life skill and here at Impulse Leisure our iSwim programme is designed to help to build confidence in the water and offers progressive levels of achievement, where skills and confidence are developed.
Our lessons are available for all ages and abilities, and are hosted as one-to-one or groups. We aren’t just here for the beginners learning to swim, we are also there to support those who want to learn skills at a competitive level too.
Our friendly and compassionate team of swimming instructors understand the importance of learning to swim, and are there to motivate and educate swimmers to enjoy swimming. All of our lessons are based on the Swim England Swimming standard which allows for each individual to progress at their own rate.
With adult support, these informal lessons are a fun and secure way for young children to be introduced to the swimming environment, by helping to build water confidence through songs and games. These lessons are available for children aged between 3 months – 4 years.

Our iSwim Learn2Swim Pathway is produced by Swim England and is an all-inclusive programme which takes a non-swimmer from his or her first splash to developing confidence and competence in the water.

It’s never too late to learn to swim or too build on your swimming abilities. Our adult swimming lessons are designed to teach and improve your strokes and increase your stamina. Adult swimming lessons are available in groups or 1-2-1.
BEGINNERS
Those not confident in the water or to swimming with their face in the water. Aim for Participants to be able to swim on their front and back without the use of swimming aids.
IMPROVERS
Emphasis is on stroke improvement and gaining deep water confidence. Participants must be able to swim 10 metres on front and back without the use of swimming aids.
ADVANCE
Emphasis is on consolidating stroke technique and building stamina. Participants must be deep water confident and able to swim at least 25 metres frontcrawl and backcrawl.
1-2-1 Lessons
Not sure a group lesson is for you or your child? At lmpulse Leisure we offer one-to-one lessons for those who require more individual attention providing you with quicker progress to other swimming levels. These 1-2-1 lessons can also be tailored for those who are training for a particular swimming event.
